The short version
- We collect only what we need — your email, collection data, and basic device info.
- Scan images are never stored by Scryda after identification completes.
- You can delete everything at any time from Settings or by contacting us.
What We Collect
Account
Email and username, collected at sign-up.
Collection data
Cards you scan, add, or track — including IDs, quantities, condition notes, prices, and binder organisation.
Scan images
Photos for AI grading are sent to Google Gemini. Reported scan photos may be stored for support review until removed by retention policy or account deletion.
Usage data
Feature interactions and scan counts used to improve the app. Analytics are minimised and exclude raw card names.
Device info
OS version and device type for crash reporting and compatibility.
Subscription
Your plan tier (Free, Pro, or Dealer), managed by RevenueCat.
How We Use Your Data
Core features
To identify cards, manage your collection, track prices, and provide grading estimates.
Account management
To authenticate you, manage your subscription, and keep your account secure.
Improvement
Minimised usage data helps us improve scan accuracy and app performance.
Communications
Transactional emails (account and price alerts) if you have opted in. Opt out any time in Settings.
Third-Party Services
Scryda relies on the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
Convex
Backend database and real-time sync. Your collection data is stored securely on Convex servers.

AI model for card image recognition. Scanned images are processed by Gemini and subject to Google's data policies.

Optional product analytics for feature usage and performance. Can be disabled in Settings.
View privacy policyData Retention
Your collection data is retained for as long as you maintain an account. Deleting your account removes your data within 30 days.
Scan images submitted for identification are processed in real-time and are not retained by Scryda after the request completes.
Your Rights
Access
Request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@scryda.com.
Deletion
Delete all your data from Settings → Data & Storage → Clear All Data, or by contacting us.
Portability
Export your collection as CSV from Settings → Data & Storage (Pro and Dealer plans).
Opt-out
Opt out of marketing emails any time in your profile settings.
Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Convex encrypts data at rest. We enforce server-side checks to prevent unauthorised access to paid features.
No system is 100% secure. In the event of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Children
Scryda is not directed at children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of Scryda after changes constitutes acceptance.
